1. Two kinds of users
We handle data differently for job seekers and employers. A job seeker is a data subject whose personal information we collect directly. An employer is usually a business user; where an employer adds a pre-existing resume database or creates candidate records, the employer is responsible for having the right to do so, and we process that data on the employer's instructions.
2. Information we collect
- Account details — name, email address, mobile number, password (stored only as a hash) and role.
- Job seeker profile — experience, education, skills, expected salary, location, resume files and any photo or certificate you upload.
- Employer profile — company name, industry, size, website, contact person and verification documents.
- Activity — jobs you view, save or apply to, interview and offer responses, saved searches and notifications.
- Billing data — package purchased, invoice and payment reference. Full card numbers are handled by our payment gateway, not stored by us.
- Technical data — IP address, browser and device type, and security logs, collected to keep the service safe.
3. Why we use it
To create and secure your account; to show you jobs and candidates that match; to deliver applications and messages; to verify employers and screen listings; to raise invoices and meet tax law; to send service emails and alerts you asked for; to detect fraud and abuse; and to answer support requests. We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use your phone number or email for third-party advertising.
4. Who can see your information
- Employers you apply to — see the profile and resume you submitted for that role.
- Other verified employers — may see limited profile information where your profile is recommended for a role, and full contact details only where a package expressly includes contact unlock.
- Other users — see your public profile only to the extent your settings allow. Your contact number is never shown publicly by default.
- Service providers — hosting, email delivery and payment processing partners who process data strictly on our instructions.
- Authorities — where we are legally required to disclose, or to prevent serious harm or fraud.
5. Cookies and analytics
We use essential cookies for login sessions and CSRF protection, and preference cookies for theme and language. Analytics, where enabled, is used in aggregate to understand which pages and jobs are useful. You can manage non-essential cookies from the cookie panel; blocking essential cookies will prevent you from staying signed in.
6. How long we keep it
Active accounts are kept while you use the service. Closed job seeker accounts are retained for up to 90 days to allow reinstatement, then removed. Application and selection records tied to a live employer hiring process are kept for the duration of that hiring plus 12 months, after which resumes are deleted or anonymised. Invoice and payment records are kept for eight years to meet Indian tax and accounting requirements.
7. How we secure it
Traffic uses HTTPS, passwords are hashed, access to candidate data is role-restricted, and administrative actions are logged. Uploaded resumes are stored outside the public web root and served only through authenticated routes. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects your rights, we will notify you and the relevant authority as required by law.
8. Your rights
You can access and correct most of your data in your profile. You may also ask us to delete your account, send you a copy of your data, restrict certain processing, or withdraw consent for optional emails. Write to privacy@sunstack.in from your registered email address; we respond within 30 days. You may also complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
9. Children
The portal is for users aged 18 and above. If we learn that an account belongs to a minor, we will close it and delete the related data.
